This post is a retraction of my statement from the previous day regarding the capture of Gaddafi.

Executions are never justified. Gaddafi was a tyrant, no doubt, but his captors are murderers.

The brutality and wanton cruelty shown on the Al Jazeera video does not bode well for the future of Lybia.

Are the Lybian people ready for democracy?

What a waste of countless lives, if as I suspect, they are not.

  1. I was a little freaked out by the original cell phone video they sent out. It was difficult to tell much as it was so bouncy and blurry, but I had the distinct impression that things were not as they seemed. I have heard there is another video, but have not seen it yet, so I cannot speak to anything else.

I was somewhat alarmed by the display of his body in the shopping mall freezer! The article I read said they couldn't decide what to do with his remains. what a mess they created for them selves!

I concur that they may not be ready to be a truly Democratic nation if indeed they are as murderous as it appears. Gaddafi needed to go for sure, but they took the easy way out and he'll never have to face down his atrocities... I fear they may trade one dictator for another if they are not cautious in their process.

I hope you and your family are getting through these difficult times on the home front. XX

  2. Thanks Momma for your comment. It as all too savage for my liking.

As for us, we're trying to get back to some kind of normality. Time's a great healer. It is hard though as from anywhere in this town I can see the church of the cemetery - a constant reminder. All the best to you and your loved ones x
