Madeleine - du är mitt solsken

At times, when I look at you, I feel so in love and overwhelmed with admiration at your flawless and perfect beauty.

It is, after all, no secret, that I think you're the most beautiful girl in the world.

But I also feel vulnerable at times, exposed to the elements without shelter. I guess the more one loves someone, the bigger the fear of losing that love.

Yes yes... of course I know love's ways are hard and steep, and I also know that to experience joy one must  experience sorrow...and yes, it is a price worth paying.

I know the pain of too much tenderness - and the unnecessary worry for your safety when I'm not around.

But I also know that there must, at times, be space between us.  As Kahlil once wrote, and I quote;

" Let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you...the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each others shadow";

but I admit to feeling a lot happier when  in your presence.

Even the simple action of you putting on lipstick is enough to make me smile...

...or just hearing you sing along with the TV ads...

...or seeing you brush your teeth with your foam-coated tongue bobbing up and down...

...or seeing your first sleepy but sparkling smile in the morning...

...or seeing you attempting to cook a new dish, covered in ingredients from head to toe...

...or watching you lick the cake-mix remains off the bowl...

...or hearing you mispronounce an English word and keep repeating it over and over again until you get it right...

... but most of all...

...I love to see you smile...
...because...

...I love you

Non, Je ne regrette rien...

As a continuation to my recent post "Can Autumn Last Forever?" , I would like to add the final and closing chapter. The post was written when I was feeling particularly vulnerable and sorry for myself; not the two best sentiments when trying to write anything sensible, I know.  The chapter is best described by the inimitable Edith Piaf with the song that still makes the hair on my body (and that's quite a lot - see my post "Naked Ape") stand to attention. Now before you all start insinuating that considering the great Edith Piaf died in 1963, I must therefore be extremely old, I will step in and put you right. I may not be the youngest blogger in blogosphere but definitely not the oldest either.

Although the great song was released before that fateful night when a combination of drink and the right time of the month resulted in me, it has been pulling my heartstrings ever since I first heard it, around age 9.  I could just about make sense of the title, when translated by my mum, but it meant more than the lyrical content. Much much more. The haunting melody and sublime voice, are what etched my young mind forever. Thank you for the "etching" Edith, and R.I.P Little Sparrow. x

Awesome or what!   I digress - back to my Autumn post. Due to the then dubious state of mind of yours truly, I didn't mention anything about my beloved gf Madeleine. Of course I should have!  I met her during that time and am eternally grateful for it. I dread to think what it would be like if she wasn't here. My feelings for Madeleine are mentioned in my previous post "Gratitude Attitude" . Anyway, as further good measure, here are the Google translated lyrics, and therefore, final chapter of my Autumn post:

No! Absolutely nothing
No! I regret nothing
Neither the good done to me
Nor any evil I do not care!

No! Absolutely nothing
No! I regret nothing

It is paid, swept away, forgotten
But I care about the past!

With my memories
I lit the fire
My sorrows, my pleasures
I no longer need them!

Scanned loves
And all their tremors
Swept away forever
I start from scratch

No! Absolutely nothing
No! I regret nothing
Because my life, because my joys
Today, it starts with you!

...until next time, Au Revoir  :)

Quality self-photography? Yeah, with just a Samsung S-5230 phone!

.
If the old saying " a bad workman always blames his tools" is anything to go by, then here is a case of "basic tools doing a great job"!  Just take a  look at  the quality photos Madeleine takes of herself with nothing more than a Samsung S5230 mobile phone!
I am not here to advertise Samsung products (mind you...I need an upgrade)  but to praise Madeleine's skill and beauty.

Cool pics or what?

...and this is "yours truly"!  Yes, my very own self-portrait!   Maybe not as glamorous, but then...I own a Sony Ericsson...obviously not a suitable tool for the difficult job of capturing so much beauty with just a mere 2 mega pixels!  :)
