Springtime and Gaddafi

Spring -so much  more than just a  transitional period between winter and summer!

It is the season of rebirth, renewal and regrowth. And most importantly, the season when my entire being wakes up from its enforced winter slumber and starts to look forward to longer days ahead.

...and onto a brighter subject.

  I have neglected this blog of late. Guilty as charged. Busy with a house move and demanding job and a case of the dreaded 'writers-block'.

While scratching my head for blog ideas, I saw the pathetic performance by Colonel Gaddafi on TV and immediately thought of my 'Turd Of The Week' awards.

The Arab world is in turmoil and on the brink of self-destruction. From North Africa to the Arabian Peninsula the populations are rebelling against the tyranny and corruption of oppressive dictatorships, lack of democracy and human rights.  Nothing new then, I hear you say. Not so. This time it's for real. The mass protests are sweeping aside governments and gathering momentum day by day. The genie is definitely out of the bottle and about bloody time, I say.

'Mad Dog' Gaddafi  has unleashed armies of paid-up foreign mercenaries against his own people in a desperate bid to remain in power. He is determined to go down fighting and, unfortunately, as a leader with the bulk of the army on his side, the outcome will be bloody, that's for sure.  Hundreds of protesters have already been killed in what could become the bloodiest revolution in recent history.

Soon, summer will arrive, and with it the wonderful aromas of ice-cream, sun lotion and cold beer. What a heavenly combination!  And hopefully by then Gaddafi (the nasty shit) will be long forgotten, buried somewhere in the desert sands of Lybia and maybe even erased from history.

So much to look forward to...I LOVE SUMMER!

Gordon Ramsay - "Turd of the Week"

Why is TV celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay so popular? I have persevered for years - yes, many years - trying to like him and his programs, but have failed miserably. Is there something wrong with me? Am I the only one who doesn’t like Gordon?



I just can’t see what’s so special about this sewer-mouthed bully boy with the face of a bull-dog chewing gum. He is so f*****g rude, and yet, incredibly, so popular. Why? Is it a case of “culinary masochism" affecting the world at large?

As for Hell’s Kitchen USA, well, that simply has to be the worst ever cookery program in history. I had to give up watching after 10 minutes - I was completely knackered and totally stressed out. Not entertainment in my book.

I have decided to give Gordon this week’s “Turd” award, for pissing me off once again.

Rant over...for another week at least ;)

After hours of sifting through the many celebs and politicos who annoy the hell out of me, I have come to the conclusion that no one deserves the award more than;

Republican Bob must believe it is better to put-down a sick person than try and cure her... I wish he got a job in Afghanistan or Yemen or even Chechnya - he'd feel at home, I'm sure. He would mix with politicians  with the same sort of mentality and distinct lack of noble human qualities such as empathy...decency...sympathy



Welcome to the all new... "Weekly Awards"

With so much absurdity and stupidity all around us at any given time, I have decided it a good idea to channel my anger on a more positive way. Hence the all new "Turd Of The Week" award.

I know it will be both difficult and time consuming to choose between so many candidates (especially with the abundance of celebs and politicos trying their hardest) but it will be worth it! For me anyway!

I would be very pleased if you, my cherished readers, could contribute via the comments section and maybe even give me some suggestions.

This weeks winner, in my opinion, could go on to win numerous awards. He is constantly making a fool of himself and irritating the crap out of me. He is a tin-pot leader struggling to remain in power and is following Hitler's method of finding a common enemy to galvanise support. He is a deceitful and manipulative opportunist who can, given half a chance, bring chaos and war to the Middle East. He needs to be stopped, and soon, hopefully by his own people. He carries the torch of  Islam as a means of justifying suppressing his people and offending other nations.

His day will come, I have no doubt about it. He will be held accountable one day soon - I can't see him drawing a pension and retiring peacefully. The longer he stays in power the more the damage to his country's reputation. Meanwhile, the rest of the world  waits with baited breath....

...and the winner is.....for the pathetic speech blaming the USA for attacking itself on 9/11...
